ABOUT KMB MANAGEMENT SERVICES CORPORATION

KMB Management Services Corporation was created in 2009 to manage The Wooster Inn on the campus of The College of Wooster. Ken Bogucki, who heads KMB Corp. had been a six year employee of the college and operated the Inn during that time. In spite of ever increasing sales, the Inn operated at a deficit each year. This loss was primarily due to the benefit structure of the college that treated Inn employees like those of any other department in the organization.

The College of Wooster has a fine reputation as an educational institution but it did not have the time and the resources to dedicate to a hospitality operation. Further, as the economy became more depressed, the idea of subsidizing an amenity like the Inn was less acceptable to those governing the operation of the college. The independent operation of the Inn under the guidance of a management company became a viable alternative to closing the facility.

Because of the long relationship Ken Bogucki had with the college and the community, there was a real effort to create a collaborative solution that would be a win for the college and the employees of the Inn.

Beginning on July 1, 2009, KMB Management Services Corporation took over operation of the Inn. The new company invested $250,000 in upgrading the facilities the Inn offers. The new Pub and Patio bars have been well received. The updated guest rooms have also been a hit with our guests.

KMB Corp employees do have a benefit program that differs from the college, but they still have the opportunity to take advantage of healthcare, life, and disability insurance offered by the company.

KMB Management Service Corporation has had several inquiries that would expand the number of properties it would manage in the coming year. Of these, The Saint Paul Hotel in downtown Wooster will be the next property beginning in early 2011.

KMB Corp is in the business of saying “yes” to guests and making event planning and execution as easy as possible. The fact is that we specialize in events that are the special times in people’s lives. Because we host and plan so many events, your special day is just a regular day for our staff.
